Account book [copy], 1762-1775.

Account book of jeweler and watchmaker Zachary Lewis, covering 1762-1775. The book lists names of customers; repair, purchase, or service rendered; and payment for services by cash or trade. Gold, silver, and crystal were used in the repair or creation of watches and jewelry. Customers included Patrick Henry, James Madison, and John Marshall. Downs Collection has digital images of this volume on a CD. Prints of most of the images are available; users needing larger images may request to use the CD. (Front and back covers and some scraps of paper laid into the volume which bear only numbers but no text were not printed out.).
